Not My Collector

A satirical series seen through the eyes of imaginary critics who just don’t get it.

Not My Collector was born from a creative prompt: make art for the people who would reject it.

We've all seen the comments artists get online from the self-appointed Art Police. They tell us how "real art" should be. So, instead of ignoring them, I turned them into characters.

Comments from fictional critics (trolls) like Jen Eric and Justin Sultz appear around my paintings like badges of honour. Their advice reveals more about them than the art.

That’s the heart of Not My Collector: a satirical nod to the people my work isn’t made for, and a reminder that the right collectors will laugh along with me.

Truth is...

Justin Sultz wouldn’t like this one. It's far too abstract for a dictionary addict.

It Looks Like...

Terry Bull wouldn’t like this one. Nothing beats his wasp sting for drama.
